Not always. A battery is useful when you want to use solar energy after sunset, reduce dependence on the grid or maintain selected loads during power interruptions. For straightforward daytime savings, an on-grid system without a battery may be sufficient.
A standard on-grid system automatically shuts down during a grid outage for electrical safety. A correctly designed hybrid or off-grid system with compatible battery storage can continue powering selected essential loads, depending on the inverter, battery capacity and system design.
Trees, chimneys, dust and nearby structures can reduce solar generation. We assess shading during the site survey and recommend the appropriate panel layout and technology.
